DE Ich liebe den Monat Juni! Der Sommer (und Sale) fängt an, alle sind gut gelaunt und es ist mein Geburtstag (ja, den ganzen Monat lang!). Aus diesem Anlass habe ich schon am Anfang des Jahres eine neue Reise geplant. Und ich hätte mir diese nicht magischer vorstellen können.
Ungefähr vor 2 Jahren habe ich angefangen mich für Kappadokien zu interessieren. Im Internet hat man zu diesem Zeitpunkt nicht viel über die Organisation solch einer Reise gefunden, aber ich wusste, dass ich diesen Ort unbedingt besuchen muss. Und dieses Jahr hat es endlich geklappt! Was genau ich an meinem Geburtstag gemacht habe, verrate ich euch im nächsten Post. Heute habe ich meine Reisetipps für euch, damit ihr es etwas einfach mit der Organisation habt als ich. Ich habe die ganze Reise ganz alleine geplant, also bekommt ihr Tipps aus erster Hand!
Flug: Ihr habt zwei Flughäfen zur Auswahl: Nevsehir und Kayseri. Leider gibt es keine direkten Flüge und ihr musst mit einem Zwischenstopp rechnen. Ich habe unsere Flüge direkt über Turkish Airlines mit einem Stopp in Istanbul gebucht. Der Preis lag im Januar bei 300€ pro Person (für Flüge im Juni). Ursprünglich habe ich mich auch für Nevsehir entschieden, da der Weg nach Kappadokien/Göreme mit 45 Minuten etwas kürzer ist. Wenn man eine Reise früh plant, muss man damit rechnen, dass sich was ändern kann. So sind wir anstatt in Nevsehir, in Kayseri gelandet (was wir natürlich vorher wussten). Die ganze Anreise hat um die 8 Stunden gedauert.
Shuttle: Fragt am besten in eurem Hotel an. So seid ihr sicher, dass jemand vor dem Flughafen auf euch wartet. Wir haben 30TL (6-7€) pro Person bezahlt und waren in weniger als 1,5 Stunden vor dem Hotel.
ENG I love June! It is the beginning of summer (sale), everyone is in a good mood and it is my birthday (yes, my birthday month!). Of course I couldn’t miss out and had to plan another trip for this occasion. And it turned out to be more magical than I could have imagined.
About 2 years ago I started to be interested in a place called Cappadocia. Back then even the internet could not give me specific information about organizing a trip, so I had to figure it out alone. I will tell you more about my birthday and what I did in my next post. Today I have some tips for you. As I planned this adventure all by myself you will get first-hand information. And what’s better and easier than that?
Flight: flying into Cappadocia you have the choice between two airports, Nevsehir and Kayseri. Unfortunately there are no direct flights and you have to make a stop. I booked our flights directly on Turkish Airlines website with a stopover in Istanbul. I paid 300€ per person in January, for flights in June. Originally I planned to fly into Nevsehir as it is closer to Göreme (about 45 min drive). But planning a trip ahead can be tricky and you have to be ready for some changes. And so we landed in Kayseri instead of Nevsehir (we knew that before of course). Duration of our journey was about 8 hours.
Shuttle: book the shuttle directly through your hotel. That way you will be sure that there is somebody waiting for you at the airport. We paid 30TL (6-7€) per person and arrived in Göreme in less than 1,5 hours.

DE Sultan Cave Suites: Für unsere Reise habe ich zwei Hotels gebucht. Im Sultan haben wir 2 Nächte verbracht und 170€ für ein Doppelzimmer mit Frühstück bezahlt. Ich kann euch das Hotel sehr empfehlen! Die Zimmer sind typisch für die Region, das Frühstück superlecker und die Aussichten atemberaubend. Jeden morgen gibt es auf der Terrasse ein Frühstück, damit ihr wunderschöne Fotos machen könnt. Dabei beobachtet ihr die Heißluftballons, die über dem ganzen Himmel verstreut sind. Zur Abkühlung könnt ihr den Pool im Nachbarhotel ‚Kelebek‘ mitbenutzen. An diesem Hotel gibt es nichts auszusetzen. Absolute Empfehlung!
ENG Sultan Caves Suites: I booked two hotels for this trip. We spent 2 nights at Sultan Suites hotel and paid 170€ for a double room with breakfast. The rooms are typical for the region, the breakfast delicious and the view breathtaking. Every morning you have the chance to take beautiful photos at breakfastst which is prepared on the rooftop. Doing that you can observe the hot air balloons that fill the whole sky between 5 -6 am. If you feel the need to cool down, you can use the pool at Kelebek hotel which is just next door. You cannot go wrong with choosing that hotel for your trip. Definite recommendation!
DE Local Cave House: Dieses Hotel habe ich nur für eine Nacht gebucht. Wir hatten einen Nachtflug und sind früh am Morgen angekommen. Somit habe ich geplant, dass wir den ersten Tag am Pool verbringen werden. Für diese Nacht haben wir 50€ für ein Doppelzimmer mit Frühstück bezahlt. Das Hotel hat die beste Lage, die Zimmer sind mehr als ausreichend und der Poolbereich wunderschön. Auch hier habe ich nichts zu meckern und war mit dem Aufenthalt sehr zufrieden.
ENG Local Cave House: we spent only one night at this hotel. We took a redeye to get to Turkey, so I planned some time at the pool for our first day. We paid 50€ for a double room with breakfast and did nothing wrong with that. The hotel has a great location, the rooms are more than enough and the pool is awesome. Once again I have nothing negative to say. We were more than satisfied with our stay.
Sightseeing
DE Fairy Chimneys, Pasabagi: In Kappadokien gibt es so viel zu erleben und zu sehen! Ihr solltet auf jeden Fall mehr als 2 Tage für diese Reise einplanen. Ihr könnt eine Tour machen, ein Auto mieten oder wie wir es gemacht haben – einen Quad holen (ungefähr 50€ für 4 Std.) und durch die Gegend rasen. Es hat so viel Spaß gemacht und wir haben unzählige Orte entdeckt. Ganz besonders haben mir die Feenkamine gefallen. Diese Erdpiramiden könnt ihr in Zelve oder Pasabagi finden.
ENG Fairy Chimneys, Pasabagi: Cappadocia has so much to offer! You should definitely plan more than 2 days for this trip. You can take a tour, rent a car or do it as we did – get an ATV and race around the region. It is so much fun and we explored so many new places. One of my favorites were the Fairy Chimneys. You can find those earth pillars in Zelve or Pasabagi.
DE Uchisar: nur wenige Kilometer von Göreme (wo die meisten Hotels sind) findet ihr die Stadt Uchisar. Ihr könnt die Burgfelsen besichtigen, durch die Straßen fahren und an kleinen Ständen Kleinigkeiten einkaufen oder türkische Leckereien probieren.
ENG Uchisar: only few kilometers away from Göreme (where most of the hotels are) you can find the city Uchisar. The castle rock is a place to see. Other than that you can just drive in the small streets, buy souvenirs and local food at little stands.
DE Sunset View Point: In Göreme gibt es einen tollen Ort mit Panoramaaussicht. Morgens eignet sich dieser natürlich perfekt, um die Heißluftballons zu beobachten und tolle Fotos zu machen. Ihr erkennt ihn ganz einfach an der türkischen Flagge.
ENG Sunset View Point: Göreme itself offers the best view point. It is perfect to watch the balloons in the morning and take beautiful photos. The Turkish flag is visible from the city so there is no way you could miss it.
