HOLLYWOOD / LOS ANGELES

HOLLYWOOD / LOS ANGELES
ENG Being a little girl Los Angeles appeared holy to me. Just as much as my bed does now. All the magic and glamour has happened there. But Hollywood is not America.

I always describe not only my feelings but expectations on my blog. Well, I think LA is an obvious one – everyone is beautiful and bikini ready, (wannabe) movie stars at every turn, surfers at Venice Beach and no way to move around without a car. In that case all of my expectations were true.
I already revealed some of my favorite LA spots in my ultimate road trip guide but there is more to come just now! Before telling you more about my experience though, there are few places you should keep in mind before visiting the city of angels.
– MELROSE, LACMA, HOLLYWOOD HILLS and GRIFFITH OBSERVATORY
It’s all up to you but I wouldn’t recommend to spend a lot of time at very touristy places like THE WALK OF FAME. I really don’t get people who go all the way to LA and visit this boring place like every day. Can someone please explain that to me?
Back to my very own feelings – LA is huge! I’m the orientation expert and genius. I don’t know how but I always know where to go, where to turn right and where left, which corner or street I should take next. (Venice excluded) It’s almost like I can smell my destination. Seriously. After 6 weeks in America I never found myself lost – until the day I got to LA!
The first days I was on my own. Luckily the apartment I stayed at was located in West Hollywood.  Just 15 minutes walk from Melrose and 10 minutes away from Hollywood and The Walk of Fame.
While I loved Melrose I didn’t like the other attraction that much. Quite contrary to Hollywood, Melrose is like a forgotten spot in Los Angeles. And of course that is what I liked about it.
As ridiculous as it sounds I though to feel more glamorous and fancy when in LA. At the end I can’t even describe my feelings. Instead of living, having fun, finding the spirit I was busy with visiting all the places I had on my list. Up to four spots in one day. But that’s not how you should do it there. Take your time. One day, one spot. The only way you’ll feel, understand it and not just mark it as “yeah, I’ve been there”.

Zurück zu meinen eigenen Gefühlen – LA is riesig!

    Casey
