TOP OF THE ROCK / NEW YORK

TOP OF THE ROCK / NEW YORK
ENG I’m afraid of hights. I’ve always been and I’ll always be. I’m also the most self-contradictory and illogical person I know. I’m afraid of hights but I love rooftops, skyscrapers and flying. I love my bed and sleep but stay wide awake till 4 in the morning. I do a lot of things I say I’d never do. And I think I’m not the only one here.

8 days in New York City, 8 days of jumping from one rooftop to another, endless goosebumps and “my-life-is-in-danger” feeling (obviously it wasn’t but I pretty much suck at climbing ladders on the 56th floor). No risk, no fun they say.
Rockefeller Center is one of my favorite spots in NY. Every single rooftop is my favorite spot in NY.
Walking around the 5th avenue in a blue skirt and white Converse, kind of lost but still knowing where you are and then finding yourself on the Top Of The Rock looking at Central Park and Empire State Building where everything seems to be small and lucid. Priceless. Until you’ve noticed that you can’t breathe because well, you’re afraid of hights. I still could spend hours there. It’s overwhelming, it’s art, it’s beauty. The skyline dominates, it’s powerful and it’s the best view you can get. You want to feel alive? Go to New York. These streets will make you feel brand new, big lights will inspire you
It’s magical and inexplicable how you can’t even imagine the feeling New York gives you before going there. It’s crazy. Almost every night I was wondering and dreaming and trying to understand how it will be to finally experience it. I’ve never seen it coming that big. No one could ever convince me that I won’t be able to find words to describe this city, that it’ll make me speechless. But I guess it’s New York, I guess this is all about. To experience it on your own because you’ll never be able to understand this place by reading a blog or watching a movie. You have to see it, live it, smell it and think about it. Then, and only then you’ll be closer to get what NY is. I’m trying to capture and detail this situation, not only for you but also for me and I feel like I can’t. I still have those pictures, memories and feelings inside my head, inside of me. It is impossible to clothe these thoughts in words though. It’s too brilliant for words.

Gehe nach New York! These streets will make you feel brand new, big lights will inspire you
